Linking school visit to St.Peter's
Date: 30th Apr 2024 @ 7:40am
29.4.24 - We loved our visit to St.Peter's yesterday! It was brilliant for the children to see all of their new friends again. We played handball, had a long play time where we tried out their trim trail as well as some of us playing football, and finished the day creating our 'Together Towns' in pairs. For this activity, the pairs had to think about what they would like in their 'perfect' town to ensure it was a safe and happy place for all. The children worked with each other fantastically and all of them had the confidence to join in too. I have uploaded some photographs for you to see!

During our Hindu theme day we were learning about the festival 'Makar Sankranti'. We researched the festival, made kite thank you cards, designed our own rangoli patterns, built a kite in teams and even had a go at flying them!
Here are some pictures and videos from our day!

- Learnt about our identities and what makes us unique.
- Created some identify bunting and sent it to our linking school.
- Talked at home about our names and shared this with our classmates.
- Opened our linking schools post and learnt interesting things about them from their bunting.
- Met our linking class on zoom to talk about 'It's cool to be kind' week and played some games!
- Created some French Christmas cards for our linking class.
- Recieved some cards in return!
We can't wait for all the activities next term!

Wow! What a great week we have had in Year 3.
In art, we were using natural things to make paints like they did in the Stone Age.
In our history lesson we learnt about what the North West was like in the Stone Age.
In science we were investigating rocks and describing their appearances.
In music we used the glockenspiels to play part of the trumpet concerto - we worked brilliantly with our partners.
In maths this week we have been ordering and comparing numbers.
We have amazed Mrs Freeman with our creativity in writing this week and we wanted to show you the endings to our stories so have a look at some of them in this gallery.
Ask us what the numbers 0 - 20 are in French!

Music Evening this year saw 91 children (almost half the school) performing for us. They showcased their singing, cellos, guitars, ukeleles, violins and steel pans. We were so proud of the skills and confidence on show!

33 of our children took part in a virtual run to raise money for school. So far they have raised approximately £1500. This money will go towards much need funds to update the ICT equipment which is in desperate need of replacement.
