Admissions and Catchment
Admissions to St John’s C.E. Primary School is managed by Stockport Council and as such it is the council who make the decisions regarding entry to the Reception class. There is a formal online application process with strict deadlines. Information on this process as well as advice on completing your application is available here. Admissions to school years other than Reception is managed through a waiting list system. Again the Stockport admissions team will support families in gaining a place at St John’s.
Each Community Primary and Secondary school, Church of England Primary and has a geographical area around it called a Catchment Area.
Every address in Stockport falls within the catchment area of only 1 Primary and 1 Secondary school. If you wish to be considered for a place at your catchment school you must include it as one of your preferences.
In addition to catchment areas, each address in Stockport also has an associated Primary & Secondary Catholic school.
